Post-UNGA Training to Members of Parliament

We had the privilege of hosting a Post-UNGA training session for the esteemed Members of the Tanzania Parliamentarian Alliance for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). This gathering focused on the Antimicrobial Resistance Political Declaration, a vital framework that has garnered the endorsement of 79 session heads of state at the United Nations General Assembly.

The training aimed to enhance Member of Parliament comprehension of the global commitment to the AMR agenda and its far-reaching implications for public health and sustainable development.

We also facilitated an open dialogue among the alliance members, encouraging the sharing of insights and experiences related to AMR in the Tanzanian context. This collaborative exchange was designed to identify effective strategies that could enable the alliance to translate the aspirations of the political declaration into actionable initiatives at both national and regional levels.

Ultimately, the objective was to equip members with the necessary tools and knowledge to advocate for policies that position AMR as a priority within Tanzania's health agenda, fostering a united front in the global fight against antimicrobial resistance.
